We are hiring a Chief Product Officer (CPO)

Overview

Overall responsibility for the effective integration of various components of the delivery of Aqilla from collaborative Design, Specification, Development, Testing, Documentation and Support to the end user / customer

Specific responsibilities

  • Research into new product and service lines.
  • Commissioning of new functionality including the production of high level functional development specifications, collaboration with the production of technical specifications, pre-release testing, and collaboration on release notes and updating of Help.
  • Monitoring and active participation in managing the product production environment such that new functionality is developed, tested and released within acceptable parameters agreed with the SLT (senior leadership team).
  • Working in close collaboration with the CTO to deliver regular updates that benefit the whole Aqilla customer base.
  • Contributing / participating in new release training for consultants, sales and partners
  • Contribution towards documentation including end user guides and help systems
  • Creation and maintenance of meaningful standard demo data
  • Sharperlight instance oversight (via support)
  • Pre and post sales engagement on larger bids as well as with strategically valued customers and partners
  • Input into development of chargeable services 
  • Day to day management responsibility for the Support Lead / Manager and other non Development related technical staff.
  • Working alongside Consultants where necessary to provide advanced 2nd line backup.

Personal

  • Assume overall responsibility for all personal customer facing activity ensuring the delivery of customer satisfaction and quality.
  • Ensure that the company is always professionally represented and that all customer complaints are registered, responded to and resolved promptly.
  • Keep abreast of the market in order to help develop new product / marketing strategies as and when required.
  • Maintain individual skill sets as required by the current product portfolio.

Skills and knowledge required

  • Knowledge of general accounting and business principles.
  • Ideally knowledge of Aqilla. 
  • Experience of other accounting software solutions e.g. SunSystems, and others utilising a combined / unified ledger model  would be advantageous).
  • Demonstrable understanding of underlying technologies e.g. relational database design, APIs, Query processing and management, SQL, automation, AI etc.
  • Demonstrable expertise in modern user experience design
  • Experience of working with clients at a senior level.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Excellent and confident communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft & Google office productivity solutions (in particular advanced use of Microsoft Excel and common business intelligence query frameworks).
