Speedy release of Aqilla - new features in 1307Speedy release of Aqilla - new features in 1307

The over-arching theme of the latest release of Aqilla is to help users get more done, more quickly.

This latest release facilitiates this through a number of principal enhancements, these are:

Shortcut Keys

Two shortcut keys have been added for commonly used actions.

Ctrl + Ins Holding the control key whilst pressing the Insert key performs a Create or Add New action. If you are entering lines in a document, this shortcut will create a new line. Otherwise, where appropriate, a new document or record is created.

Ctrl + ← Holding the control key whilst pressing the left arrow key (not the Backspace key) performs a Back action. For example, if you have drilled down from a report you may use this shortcut to return back again.

Project Specific Cost Rates and Time Types in Timesheets

Timesheets are now able to use rates associated with specific Projects and Time Types. These rates are defined in the Projects function under the Reference tab.

Once a project rate has been defined, this will also limit who can access the project in a timesheet. If a project has no rates defined, it is considered open to all users and the persons default rate is used as in previous versions of Aqilla.

Single Timesheets per Period

A new setting in Company Information can prevent multiple timesheets being created for the same period.

VAT on Mileage Expenses

It is now possible to specify that VAT is to be calculated when entering mileage as an expense. This setting is controlled in the Expense Types function under the Reference tab. In order to be able to specify mileage rates as a net of VAT figure, the mileage rates defined in the Person function and the Expense sheet may be specified to 5 decimal places.

Workflow State Groups

For the more advanced Aqilla user, Workflow State Groups (found under the Configuration tab) provide a mechanism for specifying, in detail, who can access different document types at different States of the documents workflow. For example using Timesheets, an administrator user may only be given access to view timesheets for a group of people while the timesheets are at the state of being entered. An approver may be given access to the same group of users but only once the document is released. A copy function is also available to duplicate a Workflow State Group for another similar configuration.
