Posted on Jan 22, 2016
We are delighted to announce that Aqilla has been confirmed as a G-Cloud 7 supplier and our profile is live on The Digital Marketplace.
The Digital Marketplace G-Cloud service.
Explaining The Framework
The G-Cloud framework is an agreement between the UK Government and technology suppliers who provide cloud-based services. The initiative started in 2012 and since then thousands of companies joined.
The G-Cloud provides public sector organisations with a selection of cloud services without requiring to enter a full tender or procurement agreement. Public sector organisations can then access suppliers via an online store, the Digital Marketplace.
The latest iteration, G-Cloud 7, which went live on 23 November 2015, has been a tremendous success. According to the Digital Marketplace, "G7 has attracted a higher number of new suppliers than any previous iteration". Of the total number of suppliers (2,566 cloud suppliers), there are 709 new companies, 95% of which are SMEs.
