A New Aqilla Release Just In Time For Christmas Holidays: 16h

Following on from the release in October, we’re pleased that November comes with another update to the core Aqilla system (16h).
The new version 16h includes the following enhancements:
A new option has been added to all document that enables users to select an existing line in the document and create a copy.
This has been a much requested feature whereby any previous line can be used to generate a new one with a couple of clicks. Once the line has been pasted, the content (such as quantity or cot account etc.) can be tailored to suit.
Financial Reports – Shading and Lined Totals
Two new options have been added to the configuration of a Financial Report:
- Shading – creates a lined report in the colour selected
- Lined Totals – puts underlines under totals and subtotals
In other words, reports can now be produced in an array of alternate line colour formats to increase readability, and totals and subtotals can now be highlighted to focus the reader’s understanding of the data provided. The options are set out in Configuration-Financial Reports. Colour settings on offer include Blue; Green; Grey and Red.

An option has been included to print self-billed sales invoices from a purchase invoice. What is this for?
Essentially this is where a Creditor or Supplier determines by the submission of their Purchase or Supplier Invoice the basis upon which they will also invoice (as a Debtor) the organisation for payment. It’s designed to save a lot of time and effort in organisations where the supply and delivery of a product or service is intrinsically linked to the revenue outcome which the organisation enjoys. Think perhaps of a contractor delivering a product to an organisation which directly sells tickets or charges an event fee.
Expense Entry – Default Expense Type
The last used expense type is now memorised by user. This simplifies the entry of expenses when the user regularly enters expenses for the same expense type, there being no need to select from the look up list.
Purchase Invoice Matching
When matching against a multi-line purchase order it is now only necessary to enter the Invoice Quantity for the lines being matched. Previously it was necessary to specify a quantity of zero for any line not being matched. In other words, where no items are being matched blank quantity fields are assumed as being zero automatically. If presented with a 100 line purchase invoice and only one item is being matched then only a single need be entered.
Debtor Statements and Creditor Remittances
The report selection now supports sorting on all columns. For instance, it is now possible to sort by currency, amount due/paid or account balance. This is extremely useful for example when one wishes to re-email debtor statements owing the most (amount due as opposed to the balance on account) for a specific currency.
Closing Purchase Orders
The system now makes an extra check to ensure that there are no outstanding goods receipts or invoice documents being matched but not yet posted (or even rough posted) before allowing the purchase order to be closed. Generally, this eliminates administrative issues in prematurely cancelling or closing supplier orders.
