Aqilla (1910) is the first Autumn release and contains some amazing new features, with particular focus on speeding up the whole process of submitting data to HMRC at both headquarter and operating subsidiary level to decrease time-consuming inter-company reconciliations along with any potentially erroneous and expensive delays.

The March 2019 release of Aqilla (1903) sees a whole new range of features bringing forth new Making Tax Digital (MTD) functionality for automatically submitting VAT information to HMRC; an option to filter on additional system attributes when using the Automatic Transaction Matching function; new Expense and Expense / Timesheet only user types; a whole range of enhancements to the user interface including coloured background themes, date entry shortcuts etc. and significant upgrade to the Microsoft Excel Add-In (which requires a mandatory upgrade to the Add-In) which now enables users to post to multiple companies, ledger dimensions and period within a single worksheet.

A new flag, called Protected, has been added to the Expense Type definition. If set, the expense type is only available to an expense user if they have been given permission to use this expense type. This is done by adding the specific expense type permission to a role that has been given to the user.

The latest releases of Aqilla see another swathe of enhancements to the built-in Workflow Groups Editor. Along with a new “User First” perspective, Documents in the last state of a Workflow can now be selected in Document Enquiry views, allowing them to be printed. The workflow copying facility also now ensures that no more than one “Own” permission exists for Access, Transition and Modification rights for the target user globally in all groups.

The 1606 release of Aqilla includes a number of features including some significant enhancements to the overall user experience which improves significantly the utility of the Home screen. By way of example, the new “Top N” gadget type allows a user to display the outcome of a saved enquiry profile and display a selected range of columns directly on the Home screen. Users can click directly on an item in the list and drill straight through to the document or account with a single click of the mouse.

The client accounts feature provides the capability of specifying that a creditor account may be invoiced using sales invoices and sales credit notes as well as handling purchase invoices and purchase credit notes. By setting a new “Client Account” setting on the creditor record to “Yes” and linking a customer account to it using the Creditor Account Code in “Statement Receiver”, you may now create sales invoices using this new customer linked to the creditor account.

The Miscellaneous Document has been enhanced so that the value columns are now no longer reset after the upload to remove the signs. The displayed Credit/Debit column has also been removed. In line with the other document types, only the new document reference will be returned if the document has been successfully uploaded.

Two auto-expansion options have been added to provide better control of how the Financial Reports are displayed. A new configurable process has been added to calculate and post unrealised currency exchange differences To use this process users need to identify which currency is to be re-valued, at the same time nominating an appropriate Unrealised Exchange Gain and Loss account(s).
