February sees the “quadragesimatic” release of Aqilla introducing a whole range of new enhancements to the leading mid-range Cloud based accounting and business solution:
Now includes new Sort Order options in Report Row Edit to enable reports to be sorted by Account Name, Account Code, or Alternative Account Name when choosing Criteria or Account Category selections. This is helpful when reporting on a rigorous fiscal number or local statutory basis.
Users can now select a NOT EQUAL basis for Payment Method to exclude a specific type e.g. select all payments due but exclude credit card accounts.
Both the Aged Debtor and Aged Creditor reports now ignore any corrected transactions created by the Journal Correction function.
When entering a currency rate, users may now enter the rate to as many decimals as required up to a maximum of 9 decimal places. When the currency rate is being calculated such as in the Miscellaneous Document when the Base and Currency values are specified, the rate will use the maximum precision of up to 9 decimal places.
Where an item is specified in these documents that is associated with an Item defined in the catalogue or product list under the Reference tab, the item unit, purchase price and cost account are automatically set. If a cost account has not been specified against an item, the default cost account held on the creditor account will be used.
In addition to the above a wide range of new business enhancements have been introduced for those customers requiring stock control, inventory management or distribution capabilities.
Inventory can be received into stock using any one of Inventory Receipts; Goods Receipts (if Purchase Orders are being used – sometimes referred to as 3 way matching); Purchase Invoices and Purchase Invoice Matching (if Purchase Orders are being used without Goods Receipts – 2 way basis).
Similarly inventory can be issued from stock using any one of Inventory Issues; Sales Invoices Products (single & multi currency); Sales Invoices Services and the Issue Transfer Document which is designed to move inventory from one location to another within the same business entity / company instance.
Items may be received into or issues from stock in a different unit of measure to the stocked unit of measure and quantities will be automatically converted in the equivalent stocked quantity.
When a stock issue document is fully posted, the stock issue transaction is created and by default automatically matched against one or more receipt transactions in the same location. This is done on either a FIFO or LIFO basis according to the setting for the item being issued. The matching process brings across information from the receipt transaction including cost details.
Inventory Issue and Transfer documents also support Manual matching. This allows the user to select from inventory specific transactions, which may additional identification such as style, size, colour, batch number reference etc.
Whilst a location is normally defined on the header a document, it is also possible to configure the location against the document line of sales invoices, purchase invoices and purchase orders. If using location by line and to save time and reduce keying, a default location can be specified against an item. If no location has been defined on the document, then the system default location will be used.
